Kate and Lee’s Wedding Day

Kate and Lee’s Wedding Day – 15th June 2022

One of our favourite types of emails are the ones where you send a picture of you on your wedding day, and we see that you are wearing a piece of Wisteria London jewellery. It’s an absolute pleasure to be chosen on such a special occasion and we love hearing what goes into making your big day your own. If you are after some inspiration, then look no further as we shine the spotlight on a recent #WisteriaLondonBride.

Kate and Lee were married on 15th June 2022 in the stunning Gosfield Hall. A romantic Georgian mansion set in the glorious Essex countryside. In this blog post Kate lets us in on her highlights of the day and the Wisteria London piece she chose to wear and why.

We hope you enjoy!

The Early Days

How did you meet your now husband?

We come from the same town, and he was aware of who I was, but I had no idea who he was. He followed me on Instagram and left a ‘WOW’ comment on one of my photos. It worked!

The Proposal

How did he/you propose?

We were at home! I work away in London during the week, and he had been planning to do it all week. I was late home after being stuck in a three-hour traffic jam. I got home, picked our cat up for a cuddle, turned around and he was on his knee! We celebrated with champagne. It was very intimate and special.

The Planning

Where was your go-to for wedding inspo?

Pinterest! I’d had a rough wedding board for years. I love all things wedding. I was very excited to plan with Lee.

The Dress

Tell us a little about your wedding dress

It is the Lyra dress from Dando London at Confetti & Lace. It was the only dress I wanted. I went in store and they had me try on a few other styles to get used to being in a wedding dress, but once I had Lyra on, that was it.

The Jewellery

Which Wisteria London piece did you choose to wear and why?

The Soleil Sunburst Earrings! I really wanted a statement earring on my wedding day. I knew I wanted it to be gold and have a pearly feel to it to match the rest of the beading on my dress. When I found these, I went out and got my ears pierced especially. I knew these were the ones. They are stunning. I also bought the matching necklace for my Mum to wear as she walked me down the aisle. It was a very special moment giving it to her the night before.

What does jewellery mean to you?

It is a part of self-expression. I choose what jewellery I wear very intentionally. It has to resonate and have meaning to me.

The Ceremony

What are your memories of walking down the aisle and the ceremony?

Gosh, I was so nervous. It was really weird having all eyes on me and I desperately wanted to savour the moment. I remember saying to my Mum that we should walk down slowly but it still felt like we ran down the aisle. I was relieved to get to Lee at the front and hold his hand. The ceremony was really lovely, even though we had our friends and family around us, it felt like it was just me and Lee. His eye contact and smile kept me grounded and, in the moment,

The Day Itself

How would you describe your wedding in 3 words?

Classic, Romantic & Understated

Did you stick with tradition or add anything new into your day?

I had my own speech which I one hundred percent would recommend to any brides considering it. We used polaroid’s from the morning of the wedding for our cake topper. We also had a pianist play Fairy Fountain (From Ocarina of Time) for our bridesmaids to walk down the aisle to and Concerning Hobbits (From Lord of The Rings) for me.

What was the highlight of your wedding day?

Walking down the aisle. It was incredibly emotional and as soon as the music started playing for me to walk, it suddenly felt so real. It also means a lot to me that our wedding day was on our 9th anniversary.

Advice For Future Brides

What advice do you have for any future brides to be?

Don’t cheap out on the confetti. I did and it was stuck on me all day. Do invest in your photography and videographer, you won’t regret it.
